Crossing The Line: Gone
Crossing The Line: Gone is a short film by Nick Bennet about an American who crossed the demilitarization zone into North Korea from South Korea in 1962. It shows his day to day life in Korea now and his assimilation into North Korean culture. It's interesting to see how people can seem at home in the most foreign of places. The piece is narrated by Christian Slater.
Number (N)ine to close it's doors.

Takahiro Miyashita's Number Nine was one of my favorite brands over the past few years, they made some great product and were one of the brands who opened me up to the Japanese market years ago. It was truly a great run. Be sure to grab those last pieces before their all gone. The final Number Nine collection will be their Fall 09 collection appropriately titled "A Closing Feeling"

Johnston Marklee & Associates | Maison Martin Margiela + Mameg, Los Angeles
The Margiela store in LA is by far my favorite store in Los Angeles. Aside from carrying a gret range of clothing every season, it is austhetically and conceptually sound. The outside of the building is entirely sequined in a way no photo can do justice. The layout of the store is great and continues with Margielas brand identity and the concepts seen in other Margiela stores worldwide. Mameg is a store located in the same building as Margiela which is operated by the same people who run The LA Margiela store. The two spces are seperated by a gold corridor which almost seem like a gateway out of Margielas vivid white world of "collage and reflection" into Mameg's world of warmth and domesticity. Even at this very slow speed, it is way too much for my brain to comprehend. Mabona Oragami are the same people responsible for the Onitsuka Tiger Pursuit of Perfection piece you might have seen a few months back. It's safe to say they have mastered the art of Oragami.

This is an interview of the legendary Milton Glaser conducted by Hilman Curtis. Those of you who are unfamiliar with Glaser are most definitely familiar with his work. He is the man responsible for the iconic "I Love New York" logo as well as many other graphic works throughout popular culture. In the video you can see Glaser's vast collection of posters as well as take a peak into his work and workspace.

Undercover x Hysteric Glamour “Song for Wrist” Bracelet
As a part of Hysteric Glamour's "Song for Wrist" collection, they have collaborated with Undercover to produce this metal bracelet. The bracelet is engraved with the phrase "we make noise not clothes", which is a phrase seen on many Undercover items throughout the past few years.

Undercover Grace Doll
Undercover's Jun Takahashi has continued to explore his love for dollmaking with these one off Undercover "Grace" plush dolls. These dolls feature the heads of iconic Marvel characters Spiderman and Venom on the bodies of tradition childrens dolls. No word on availability. This is a pretty interesting release for a fashion house. I'm diggin' it

Overgrown | Will Sweeney at Hope Gallery
English Illustrator Will Sweeney will be unveiling a new exhibition entitled "Overgrown" from February 14th to March 10th at the Hope Gallery in Los Angeles. The show will feature new works by Sweeney as well as collaborative works with artist Susumu Mukai. This show is gonna be good. I think im gonna head up there this weekend. If you're in the area, this is a must see.
